E&C Contracts Engineer - Oil & Gas - Onshore - Dubai - Middle East

CA Oil & Gas are looking for a Contracts Engineer for an engineering and construction Oil & Gas company. This is an onshore position in Dubai, Expats are welcome to apply for this vacancy.

Department:
Will be working for a division of a group of companies, based in Dubai, the regional office. It will also involve travel around the Middle-Eastern region.

Reports to:
Manager Contracts & Project Controls and, for each project, to the Project Manager.

Key Purpose of the Role:
The Contracts Engineer provides post-contract administration, quantity surveying and cost engineering services to one or more projects being carried out by the company.

The person’s main aim is to assist the company to perform its contracts smoothly and profitably, and to alert the relevant people in a timely manner about the consequences of actual or potential breaches by the company, its employers, subcontractors and partners.


Responsibilities and Tasks:
In doing this, the Contracts Engineer will need to:

· Coordinate with the Project Manager and Project Control Engineer for each project to be aware of ongoing procedural, cost and commercial discussions with the client.

· Maintain a continuing review of the progress of each (sub) contract and provide management with information regarding any financial, legal or technical difficulties.

· Prepare change orders and amendments, negotiate with (sub) contractors and customers to obtain settlement.

· Prepare the monthly valuations and final accounts against contract terms and conditions including site visits to carry out measurements.

· Provide commercial/contractual site info in his preparation of Variations to Contract and evaluate price escalations of materials.

· Evaluate claims submitted by sub-contractors.

· Liaise with and provide commercial/contractual awareness to other disciplines (Engineering, Operation, Maintenance, etc.) when required.

· Develop and maintain the Contracts Management Procedure of the company.
