E&C Projects Control Engineer - Oil & Gas - Onshore - Dubai - Middle East

CA Oil & Gas are looking for a Projects Control Engineer for an engineering and construction Oil & Gas company. This is an onshore position in Dubai, Expats are welcome to apply for this vacancy.

Department:
Will be working for a division of a group of companies, based in Dubai, the regional office. It will also involve travel around the Middle-Eastern region.

Reports to:
Manager Contracts and Project Controls and, for each project, to the Project Manager.

Key Purpose of the Role:
Monitor, assess and record, on a regular basis, the work achieved and identify and control all variations occurring during the execution of each assigned project, ensuring that fair compensation for legitimate variations is paid by the Client and verifying that project financial commitments are consistent with corporate financial policies and procedures.


Responsibilities and Tasks:
· Maintain knowledge of project deliverables coming due and drive delivery of these.

· Maintain an overall balanced view of the Project cost, schedule and commercial performance and forecasts, taking an independent view.

· Identify in advance any trends/problem areas, in order that remedial actions can be addressed early by the Project team.

· Prepare technical status reports for Project Team and management / steering committee meetings.

· Communicate to the Project team the overall financial and schedule performance of the Project against the Project Strategy and the goals set within this strategy.

· Identify project activities to be invoiced, acquire supporting documentation for sign-off and communicate to finance.

· Resolve technical issues with regard to disputed payment applications and invoices.

· Ensure that potential variations are identified to Project Management and where appropriate, the Client at early stage so that actions can be taken by the company.

· In conjunction with the Project Manager, be responsible for overall project procedural, cost and commercial discussions with the client.

· Lead the controls team and be part of the Project team. In both roles, make effort to minimize functional interfaces in order to do what is best for the project.

· Work closely with business development and finance departments with regards to proposal generation and financial reporting.

· Participate in reaching consensus on the project goals and strategy at the outset.

· Promote innovation and improvement within the Team, from design to site handover.

· Prepare and participate in project execution related documents, and administer financial and technical review meetings.

· Encourage the best use of suppliers, consultants and sub-contractors. In particular, advise project staff to identify more effective ways on how to achieve project goals.

· Demonstrate a personal commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment by following Statutory HSE Regulations, and the company’s Corporate HSE Policy & Safety Management Systems.


Salary: Negotiable.
