Regional Director - Lubricants - UK / Europe / Middle East / North Africa / CIS Regions

CA Oil & Gas are currently seeking a Regional Director for our clients operations across UK / Europe / Middle East / North Africa / CIS in the Lubricant Markets.


Job Purpose: 

The purpose of this position is to lead, co-ordinate and manage in entirety the lubricants business in the UK/Europe/Middle East/North Africa/CIS Region with accountability for financial and business results. To ensure that the business performs to its full potential, at regional level the incumbent will be responsible for all operational aspects of Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Technology, Human Resources and Health & Safety. To focus on material and sustainable markets leveraging our brand, partner/customer relationships and a cost disciplined approach:
Participation Strategy - prioritised geographic space/channel priorities
Competitive Strategy – brand distinction, outstanding relationship management, competitive cost positioning
Organizational Strategy: simple, effective, performance driven organization   

Reporting Relationships: 

This role will report to the Managing Director and will work closely internally with Sales & Marketing, Product Development, Supply Chain, Strategic Planning, Finance, Human Resources & Administration Support Functions. Direct Reports to this role include the General Manager Middle East/North Africa and in-region team leaders.

Accountabilities:

- Accountable for the volume, gross margin, profit, cash cost, working capital and health & safety performance
- Accountable for the development of sales & marketing strategies and tactics across the regional business to underpin and deliver targeted top and bottom line performance, and to ensure the ongoing growth of sales and penetration of markets aligned to strategic focus
- Accountable for the development of sales and marketing strategies in the markets that deliver and secure ongoing competitive advantage over the longer term, that are aligned to the broader company initiatives, and that help meet shorter term customer needs which serve to underpin ongoing business performance
- Accountable for the application of resources (people, expense budgets, capital budgets)to maximise profits and match profit streams to strategic imperatives through direct control or appropriate delegation of such control to direct reports  
- Accountable for developing the capabilities of team members and distributors to deliver differentiated customer offers based on clear value selling propositions and customer relationship management
- Accountable for the development and operations along the value chain in conjunction with Supply Chain to maximise returns and build and maintain a key source of competitive advantage
- Responsible for ensuring transfer of best practice – internal and external – driving strategy implementation underpinning the development of the business, strengthening channels of trade and creating a superior and differentiated offer for distributors and customers alike
- Develop, coach and motivate direct reports in successful delivery of business and functional objectives, and in their individual development.
- Interact and work closely with all key functional managers including Supply Chain, Marketing, Business Development, Finance, Human Resources & Administration
- To ensure that areas of under-performance are quickly addressed and rectified
- Support staff in developing excellent relationships with key third parties – distributors, customers and suppliers
- Leading change – to provide a sense of purpose and ensure that the business is positioned for continuous improvement
- Lead, manage and coach various teams/team members to strive for operational excellence and business success 
- Acting as Legal Persona for Legal Entities vis a vis authorities and external bodies   

Essential Experience: 

- Proven expertise in broad-based business experience focused in Sales, Marketing and General Management including managing large territory diverse international operations 
- Proven success in senior leadership roles having led a diverse group of strong professionals, Staff and Distributors alike
- Flexibility of thought and action to be able to respond to changing market environments and dynamic business situations
- Track record of delivering value from key partner and customer relationships and offer development and positioning
- Proven strategic thinking and perspective complimented by operationally excellent delivery
- Delivery of complex organizational processes including operating processes and ways of working
- Evident experience in valuing diversity and establishing an inclusive approach to leadership when managing teams from multiple countries
- Excellent leadership, team working and proven leadership skills
- Well developed analytical decision making skills
- Be highly motivated and capable of understanding and addressing the sources of issues in a complex and dynamic environment
